Social media customers report telephone calls by ‘military officers’ in search of private particulars – Pakistan

Numerous individuals over the past 24 hours have reported receiving phone calls, allegedly made by ‘military officers’, in search of their private particulars, together with their nationwide id card (CNIC) numbers and checking account info.

This isn’t the primary time such telephone calls have been reported. Earlier in January, similar type of phone calls were made to several people, prompting the Inter-Companies Public Relations (ISPR) to challenge a clarification. The navy’s media wing had warned most of the people in opposition to such phone calls.

The impersonators attempt to search private particulars on the pretext of census verification, the ISPR had mentioned, clarifying that no such calls had been being made by the armed forces. The ISPR on the time had requested the general public to not reply to such calls and “instantly report the identical on our emergency helpline UAN 1135 and 1125”.

A Fb consumer on Wednesday wrote on the Halaat Updates Fb web page: “Is anybody getting calls by the Military, asking for particulars of your [bank] accounts and all? Yesterday, I obtained a name.”

“When I didn’t reply correctly, somebody known as from Islamabad saying the Military headquarter is taking particulars and that why are you not cooperating. Yesterday, on my daughter’s quantity once more there was a name. I informed them I had given the element yesterday, however as we speak I acquired suspicious,” the consumer shared on Fb.
