ISLAMABAD: Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir on Wednesday strongly condemned harassment and intimidation of Delhi-based Pakistani diplomats and their households, reported Radio Pakistan.
In an announcement, he stated safety of the diplomats and their households is the accountability of the Indian authorities and demanded that concrete steps must be taken to make sure security and safety of Pakistani officers and their households.
The minister regretted that such incidents are happening regardless of elevating of the difficulty repeatedly with the Indian ministry of exterior affairs.
On Tuesday, South Asia and SAARC Director Basic Dr Mohammad Faisal summoned Indian Deputy Excessive Commissioner JP Singh and lodged a robust protest on the maltreatment being meted out to the officers and households of the Pakistan Excessive Fee in New Delhi, learn a press launch issued by the International Workplace.
In response to the International Workplace, ‘The workers of Pakistan Excessive Fee and their households proceed to face “intense harassment, intimidation and outright violence from the Indian state agencies”. The International Workplace stated that “these [incidents] have escalated exponentially in the last few days”.
